NEOS YOUTH PERFORMING ENSEMBLE

Neos Youth Performing Ensemble

Neos Youth Performing Ensemble (NYPE) is a collective of aspiring, intermediate and advanced students of Neos Center for Dance who, upon selection by audition, participate in the creative choreographic process process: creation, rehearsal, and performance. In addition to required attendance and participation in performance opportunities throughout Lorain County, ensemble members are expected to take weekly classes at Neos Center for Dance. Each performance season culminates in participation in the NCD Student Showcase.

Objectives:

-To provide young dancers with the opportunity to perform professional choreography in the community;

-To provide young dancers with the tools and knowledge to choreograph their own dances;

-To provide a platform for young dancers to express their ideas and feelings through dance, thus building self-confidence, develop mentoring skills, becoming skilled choreographers and performers, and learning to work with a wide variety of personalities.

Requirements:

-At least one year of dance training; Intermediate/Level II and up

-Enrollment in two or more technique classes at Neos Center for Dance

-Regular attendance at NYPE rehearsals
